TESTIMONIALS

“I could write pages about what a wonderful experience ON BROADWAY was for not only  my daughter but for me, too! From start to finish, this experience was thoughtfully planned out and executed. Elizabeth is not only an extremely talented performer and teacher, she’s also an incredibly special person. She has a way of talking and listening that makes you feel important and every single one of the guest artists that taught during the intensive had that same quality. The shared excitement, the “we’re all in this special moment together” feeling, it was beautiful to witness. The students even had a wellness coach that ensured that not only their bodies were well cared for but their minds were too! This was the first time my daughter visited NYC and it was more magical than I could have dreamed it to be. We are so grateful for Elizabeth and Broadway Beginnings for this amazing experience.”

“Starting vocal lessons with Elizabeth my last couple years of high school was the best decision I could make, preparing me not only for college auditions but my future career in music. Elizabeth helped me tremendously with technique, song selection, and character development. Her unique expertise as an incredible performer herself has been carried with me through every professional job since. Not to mention, her openness to experiment, patience, and kind heart created a comfortable environment to truly grow as a smart performer. I’m beyond grateful to have learned from Elizabeth, with her helpful critiques and constant encouragement. I would recommend her to every individual that wants to continue perfecting their craft!”

“Elizabeth has been a mentor of mine since my freshman year of high school and I can confidently say that I would not be the person and artist I am today if I didn’t have her guidance and support along my journey. As her vocal student, my technique grew immensely and she is the reason why I have been so successful in college and why I am able to choose such challenging and advanced material. Working with her is an incredibly special and unique opportunity because I truly believe there is no one out there that will support, challenge, and teach you in the way that she is able to.”

“Over the past four years, Elizabeth has been a huge mentor in my life. She introduced me to stage management, made me fall in love with it, and her constant encouragement is the reason I’m pursuing it as a career. Since graduating, I’ve watched her build the most accepting, uplifting, and passionate theatre community. Elizabeth’s selflessness, devotion, and desire for her students to succeed never fails to shine through the work her students produce.”

“Working with Elizabeth Lyons has been amazing. I first started training with her five years ago and since then the progress I have made has been incredible. She has helped me to make great strides as a performer, improving vocal, acting, and dance skills. Her greatest impact, however, has been the increase in my confidence both on and off stage!”

“The most important technique I have learned from Elizabeth is to ask myself three questions when I am preparing to play a new character or learn a new song. When performing musical theatre pieces, this technique helps me understand the motivation of my character for breaking out into a song, monologue, or dance piece (for example) and why words were not enough to convey the character’s feelings. By analyzing them through these questions, my character shapes into someone human, someone with depth and substance. This technique makes me more believable to the audience and, therefore, allows the audience to connect and genuinely believe the conveyed message. Especially when I am performing a song, this technique strengthens my passion and sympathy for a character I am playing.”

“My New York experience was so fun, and amazing. I learned new things, new dances, and got amazing feedback from incredible teachers. I definitely would do this experience again. It was so helpful with my singing, dancing, acting everything that you want to do On Broadway.”
