Elizabeth Burton Lyons
FOUNDER
Hi, I’m Elizabeth! I’m a performer, educator, and the founder of Broadway Beginnings.
I earned my BFA in Musical Theatre from Florida State University and have had the honor of leading young people in the classroom for nearly 20 years. I have served as Artist in Residence at Harrison School for the Arts and Director of Fine Arts at All Saints Academy.
As a performer, some of my favorite credits include: Radio City New York Spring Spectacular featuring The Rockettes, Derek Hough, and Laura Benanti (understudy for Laura Benanti); Beetlejuice pre-production (Lydia); Parade at the Gallery Players (Iola Stover); The Underclassman at The Duke on 42nd Street; the 1st National Tour of Elf (understudy for Jovie) at Madison Square Garden and The Kennedy Center; and the National Tour of The Wizard of Oz (understudy for Dorothy), where I directed over 400 children who joined our cast as munchkins in more than 40 cities nationwide.
Our faculty is dedicated to providing training that prioritizes students’ health and wellness, both on and off the stage. We are passionate about building a community of young artists who are committed to growing as wholehearted, authentic humans. There is no greater joy than witnessing our students support, encourage, and champion one another—especially when they think no one is watching. It is a true gift to guide these young artists, and I look forward to the years of growth ahead.
